You’ve been planning it for months, maybe even years. Everything has been booked, and confirmed. You are ready to dive head first into that African safari, that Rainforest adventure, or whatever it is that has you shelling out the big bucks, and daydreaming of take off. The one thing you might be holding your breath over is jet lag, perhaps because you think if it is going to get you, it is going to get you.

However, while jet lag might want to rear its ugly head, and set its sights on hitting you where it hurts. It may be eager to send you on your way to your trip of a lifetime sleepy, and groggy, you can fight it. By taking specific steps you can avoid disrupting the first days of your holiday. It is all about synchronizing your body clock, do that before departure and your body will respond.

When travelling eastward go to be earlier than usual for the nights that lead up to your trip. Try to push it earlier and earlier each night. Those travelling westward will want to do the exact opposite. Hit the hay later and later prior to jetting off.

There are tons of other recommendations of what to do when on your flight, such as skip the alcohol, and hydrate hydrate hydrate. But, the average person will need to be more proactive, and begin preparation for such a flight days and nights before.
