a recent conversation.

the other day i lost my camera charger. i rummaged through every closet, opened every drawer, lifted up every pillow, and still couldn't find it. the grumpies ensued.

i was so irritated, in fact, i think simon was temporarily afraid of me. after i calmed down, we had the following chat...

me: are you sure you want to marry me?

simon: yup.

me: even though i am a pain in the butt sometimes?
simon: yup.
me: even though i lose stuff?
simon: yup.
me: even though i'll
never ever be able to take pictures ever again? (dramatic, much?)
simon: yup.

me: just checking.

phew. :)

xo,

p.s. and in case you're wondering... i have since charged my camera with a friends' charger. double phew.

Sounds like he is a good man. Don't you just feel like the luckiest girl in the world that you found each other & he loves you just the way you are... that is how I feel about my husband.

Oh so lovely... I'm excited for you two to tie the knot!

xoxo

That is so sweet! Thanks for sharing it.

Reminds me of me and my love.

Recently I lost my camera charger and he got to hear me groaning about not being able to take pictures for weeks. Finally we bought a new one. When I got home and went to plug it in, I found my old one (*&^#!) behind my deep fryer on my counter. (I live in a studio, outlets are numbered :) It had just been knocked off the outlet. Go figure. That kind of stuff happens to me all the time!

you are SO lucky! the same exact thing happened to me about a year ago, but the conversation went a little more like this:

j: where's the last place you saw it?
c: on the nightstand.
j: did you check behind it and under the bed?
c: YES JOE! I'VE LOOKED EVERYWHERE!! WHAT DO YOU THINK I'VE BEEN DOING FOR THE PAST HOUR?!
j: well, if you put your things where they belong, this sh*t wouldn't happen.
c: i know that. GAWD!

so, we drive to best buy and get a new charger for $50. in the car on the way home:

c: sorry i lost the charger. and i'm sorry i lost my temper. and i'm sorry the new charger cost so much money.
j: it's not the money i'm worried about. it's the fact that we just wasted half of our day looking for the stupid thing and then driving to best buy.
c: i know, i'm sorry i said. :'(

two months later, we're packing for our honeymoon. i open up my carry-on and the original (lost) charger falls onto the bed.

c: ohmygod, the charger!!
j: :l

i count my blessings every single day that that man married me.

i think that's how you know when you've found the right one -- even when you're at your worst and super cranky, he looks at you like he's never been more in love. love this post, nina.

I hate it when I get like that, even if I can get over the thing that made me grumpy/mad I'm then mad at myself for getting mad. Glad everything is still on :) you'll probably find the charger as soon as you buy a new one!

Have you read "Love Walked In" or "Belong to Me" by Marisa De Los Santos? You and Simon sound like the main characters, Cornelia and Teo-they balance each other out beautifully!
